Food at Isla has met our expectations from a Filipino restaurant. I haven't tried everything on their menu and have only been here a handful of times but I've tried enough items that keeps me coming back when I'm craving Filipino food. People shouldn't expect this restaurant to cook their food the way you would from your region. Of course YOUR home cooked meals are going to taste better... in your opinion. With that said, my go-to are: -pancit bihun guisadu (kids fav) -Litsun kawali -crispy binagoongan (hubby and I's fav) -sinigang liempo (for veggies, needed more sourness but it satiated the palette) -bangus sisig (never disappoints) -Bicol pakbit (love the dif veggies) These are the most items we've ordered and the more notable. If you're craving Filipino food, come here. If you're expecting the food to taste like how your mom made it, maybe ask her to cook for you ;-) I certainly like to cook my food a certain way but go ahead and head over for that crispy binagoongan. You'll need mint or gum after though :)

This was my second time here with a big group and they did a great job again. Each time I've come, we've order the large platters to share and some extra entrees. This will leave you fill! They have a lot of menu items, you will find something you like. They have a bunch of party or spending deals so take a look at their menu. We also ordered the sisig which was really good with lemon. The dessert was also good. We had a table of 13 and everyone left full with leftovers.

The peninsula has a lot of amazing Filipino restaurants and this place is definitely on my list! Everything is really good, and every dish comes with unlimited rice. They always have promotions throughout the month and even for birthdays so definitely take advantage of that. The service is great as well, everyone is so kind & welcoming. My only complaint is that the portions can be a little small, but other than that I highly recommend this restaurant!

For any Filipino gatherings, I believe Isla is the best! The food is delicious and they have a lot of options. There's plenty of seating that are excellent for large groups. The ambiance definitely reminds me of Philippines. The service is genuine, efficient, and friendly. Their servers take care of your table like you are family. I've also taken my non-Filipino friends here and they are very impressed! They also have this birthday month special giving you a free appetizer of your choice. This is fantastic! The only thing missing is karaoke night and a live singer/band. Otherwise, Isla is simply the best!

If you are looking for a Filipino joint but can't decide what type of dish to eat? This is the place! They got almost every filipino dish you can think of. They serve the food in a traditional pots & pans which adds extra feels that you are eating back home. Servers are always helpful and greets you with their warm smiles. Place is good for big groups, but you have to check the time you go here as peak hours are pretty packed. Price is okay, there is the inflation so thats given but can't complain overall.

If you are in San Bruno and craving for some authentic Filipino food with large dinning area that can accommodate large group of people. Isla Restaurant is for you. I came in with my bf who is Filipino and he said the food is tasty and similar with what he grew up eating. When you finish eating, you can even ring a bell as you walking out the restaurant if you satisfy. I found it's so fun to do. Service was decent, they will come over one to fill your water and ask if you need anything Food price is a little bit pricey, but it comes with free and refillable white rice.

Went here last night to celebrate my dads early birthday and also celebrate Mother's Day. The service here is quick and amazing and it feels so welcoming because it is Filipino owned. The food here is really good. We ordered Ponsit lumpia saying chop Suey and squid ambience feels like the Philippines. There's a lot of wooden chairs and almost feels like back home when you visit the Philippines the people here are really nice. It's very family oriented with service. Here is quick and amazing. Everyone is really accommodating and very polite.

Admittedly this was my first time ever having Filipino food outside of lumpia and Jollibees. But, it was a very interesting experience! Think Cracker Barrel but Filipino. The food was very good and authentic (according to our Filipino friend), but I have no benchmark to compare to. I personally really enjoyed salted fish with plenty of rice to offset the saltiness! I believe rice is endless here so don't be afraid to get more. This food is HEAVY - the pork cracklings, trotter, and fried bangus were are very oily, but super delicious with rice and plenty of coconut vinegar sauce. We polished off our meal with halo halo, of course. And it was delicious - a very interesting mix of textures from shaved ice, ube ice cream, corn?, flan, and other chewy things. It reminded me a lot of Vietnamese ché! The service was super friendly and the platter feed a party of 5 comfortably! I would recommend Isla to be your first adventure into Filipino food if you haven't tried it yet.

I swear I've done a review many times here, dont know why it doesn't show up. This is my family's fave Filipino spot close to home. Every entree comes with unli rice, and they have amazing promos all week and month long. Celebrated Andrees bday month here this past weekend! Love every dish ordered!
